Near Nançay, you can fish for carnivorous fish, carp, live fish, etc. Since the Middle Ages, the Sologne region has exploited its many ponds for fish farming. Today, pond fishing is a long-standing tradition that you can enjoy in the vicinity of Nançay. Around the villages of Saint-Viâtre, Marcilly-en-Gault and Neung-sur-Beuvron, there are a large number of ponds to choose from.

The Pôle des Étoiles, a science mediation center nestled in Nançay between Sologne and Berry, offers a fascinating immersion in the world of astronomy. It is adjacent to the renowned Nançay Radio Astronomy Observatory, home to the world's fourth largest radio telescope.

In Sologne, you're sure to be able to take time out to contemplate nature and its animals. The region is home to a number of ponds, ideal for birdwatching. As for the forests of Sologne, you'll be able to appreciate their tranquillity, before witnessing the stag's bellow, the powerful cry emitted by male stags to intimidate their rivals between mid-September and mid-October. It's an activity you can enjoy with family or friends, and is accessible to everyone aged 7 and over. Are you a horse-riding enthusiast? The Centre équestre de Vierzon - La Picadière welcomes you to take part in pony and horse riding courses, from beginners to experienced riders. The centre has a large indoor arena and 3 riding arenas, and organises competitions in jumping and dressage.

If the sun is shining and temperatures are high, you can cool off by the water at the Base Nautique de Châtres-sur-Cher, less than 30 kilometres from La Détente des Etoiles. Here you can enjoy trips on the Cher and hire water sports equipment: canoes, kayaks, pedalos and windsurfing boards.
